*Call for Brave New Ideas*
*Theme: Multimedia in Artificial Intelligence (AI).*
The Brave New Idea Track of ACM Multimedia 2017 is calling for innovative
papers that describe how multimedia technologies can be used to create new
intelligent systems or enhance existing systems. Papers in this track
should describe completely new and different applications which use
multimedia input (combinations of video, audio, text, and sensor signals)
as part of an intelligent agent or other advanced reasoning systems. It is
not necessary that papers in this track have large scale experimental
results or comparisons to related efforts, since it is expected that large,
publicly available data sets and other comparable systems may not be
available. However, papers should be visionary and provide enough
experimental evidence to be credible.
Authors are encouraged to submit an optional 500 word abstract of their
papers. The abstract should include argumentation for the proposed idea to
be Brave and New. Please submit the abstract to the BNI chairs by email
with the subject line “ACMMM 2017 BNI Abstract” between April 1st and May
10th 2017.
Brave New Idea full paper submissions (10 pages) will be reviewed by a set
of three independent reviewers, and the decisions will be made on the basis
of their feedback. Review criteria are: scientific impact, intellectual
rigor, and a compelling case for the paper to be innovative in the sense
described above.
Please submit your paper via the ACM MM 2017 submission site.
We expect BNI papers to be submitted directly to the BNI track. However, at
the discretion of the Program Chairs, submissions to regular full paper
track may be recommended to the “Brave New Ideas” Program Committee for
consideration.
Important note for the authors: The official publication date is the date
the proceedings are made available in the ACM Digital Library. This date
may be up to two weeks prior to the first day of the conference. The
official publication date affects the deadline for any patent filings
related to the published work.
