Call for Proposals:
2010 Special Issue
of the
ACM Transactions on Multimedia Computing, Communications and
Applications
(ACM TOMCCAP)
http://tomccap.acm.org
The ACM Transactions on Multimedia Computing, Communications, and
Applications, published quarterly, is the flagship publication of the
ACM Special Interest Group in Multimedia (SIGMM). It focuses on
multimedia computing (I/O devices, OS, storage systems, streaming
media middleware, continuous media representations, media coding,
media processing, etc.), multimedia communications (real-time
protocols, end-to-end streaming media, resource allocation, multicast
protocols, etc.), and multimedia applications (databases, distributed
collaboration, video conferencing, 3D virtual environments, etc.).
TOMCCAP publishes one special issue per year, which traditionally
appears as the November issue. The process of choosing the special
issue is highly selective, and this is a call for proposals for the
2010 special issue of TOMCCAP. Interested guest-editors should submit
proposals covering the following aspects to the EiC by email:
· Title
· Guest Editor(s), with brief bio highlighting expertise and
prior editorial or program committee experience. It is expected that
at least one of the guest editors is a senior researcher.
· Description of the special issue
· Why this topic is relevant/important to the multimedia
community today
· Possible sources of authors and submissions (such as
workshops and conferences in this field)
· Provisional deadlines: submission, acceptance/rejection
announcement, and final version. Final versions must be complete and
ready no later than August 15 2010 (hard deadline!).
Please submit your proposals directly by email to the EiC, Prof.
Nicolas D. Georganas [log in to unmask] no later than April
30 2009.
