The spatial data analytics and artificial intelligence community has a big role to play in wildlife conservation. We solicit scholarly papers outlining works in the area, vision papers outlining future research necessary and connecting it with existing works, policy prescriptions with a technological, especially spatial technology related, component, etc.
We are witnessing the 6th mass extinction of species. Spatial information processing is a key technology in order to discover and understand animal behavior, and prediction models and other technology has a key role in helping us address wildlife conservation issues, e.g., due to increasing human-wildlife conflict, etc. that has been exacerbated due to human population increase and subsequent loss of habitat.
Our future sustainability depends on our ability to preserve biodiversity. The aim of this workshop is to create a meeting place for researchers and practitioners in spatial information processing, artificial intelligence, data analytics, ecology, wildlife conservation, etc. This event will serve as a platform to share preliminary findings, discuss emerging challenges and potential solutions, and establish a community committed to addressing this urgent issue.
We cordially invite you to contribute in any capacity you deem appropriate and participate to the extent possible.
