The MIS Department offers undergraduate, masters, and PhD programs in MIS. Over 5,000 students, including 300 PhD students, have graduated from these programs. US News & World Report currently ranks the undergraduate program #5 and the MS program #3 among all universities. The MIS Department is also home to multiple research centers including the Artificial Intelligence Lab, the Center for the Management of Information, and the INSITE Business Intelligence and Analytics Center. Faculty members have extensive experience and accomplishments in AI, data mining, business intelligence, recommender systems, cybersecurity analytics, and healthcare analytics, with significant funding from NSF (e.g., CISE/IIS, CAREER, SaTC, SFS), NIH (R21, R01), and other agencies (e.g., DARPA, DHS). Many senior faculty members are Fellows of ACM, IEEE, AAAS, ISS, and AIS. Collaboration with different disciplines on campus is encouraged and straightforward.

The faculty member will teach courses at the graduate and undergraduate levels and contribute to mentoring students, including those from underrepresented backgrounds. The faculty member will also participate in outreach and contribute to departmental, college, and university service. In these and other ways, the faculty member will help to develop innovative approaches to enhancing student engagement, increasing diversity, and expanding collaborations with community and business partners.
