                             CALL FOR PAPERS
                               ICDCN 2011
                   12th International Conference on
                   Distributed Computing & Networking
                          January 2 . 5, 2011
                           Bangalore, India
                           http://www.icdcn.org

Organized by Infosys Technologies, Bangalore, the 12th International
Conference on Distributed Computing and Networking (ICDCN 2011) will be
held in Bangalore, India, during January 2-5, 2011. Over the years,
ICDCN has become a leading forum for disseminating the latest research
results in distributed computing and networking.

                                   Scope
Technical papers describing original, previously unpublished results are
solicited in all areas of theory and practice of distributed systems and
networking. As in the past, ICDCN 2011 will be organized in two tracks:
Distributed Computing and Networking.
Topics of interest include but are not limited to the following:
    - Distributed algorithms and concurrent data structures: design,
      analysis, complexity
    - Distributed operating systems, middleware, database systems
    - Embedded distributed systems
    - Experiments and measurements of distributed systems
    - Fault-tolerance, reliability, availability, self-organization
    - Self-stabilization, autonomic computing
    - High performance computing, grid computing, cloud computing
    - Integration of heterogeneous wireless and wired networks
    - Internetworking protocols and internet applications
    - Mobile and pervasive computing, context-aware distributed systems
    - Multiprocessor and multi-core architectures and algorithms
    - Network reliability, security and privacy
    - Next generation network architectures
    - Overlay and peer-to-peer networks
    - Performance modeling and evaluation
    - Resource management and quality of service
    - Security in distributed systems, cryptographic protocols
    - Sensor networks, ad-hoc networks and mesh networks
    - Shared and transactional memory, synch. protocols,
      concurrent programming
    - Specification, debugging, semantics, verification,
      testing of distributed systems
    - Traffic engineering, pricing, network management
    - Wireless networks: cellular networks, and wireless LANs

                        Paper Submission
A submission should report on original, previously unpublished research
that is not being concurrently considered elsewhere for publication in a
journal or conference. A submission consists of up to ten single-spaced
pages using at least 11-point Times Roman font and one-inch margins on
all sides on A4 or letter sized pages. The page limit includes title
page, references, figures, and tables. Extra material, such as
additional experiments, proofs, and graphs, can be included in a
clearly-marked appendix, which will be read at the discretion of the
program committee. Submissions deviating from these guidelines will not
be reviewed. Submissions must be entered online through Easychair as per
the instructions in the Submissions link on the conference website.
Accepted submissions will be published by Springer in the LNCS series
(pending approval). Submissions may be accepted either as regular papers
or short papers. Authors may request that their submission be considered
only as a regular paper. At least one author of each accepted paper must
register for the conference and present the paper.
Extended versions of selected papers from ICDCN 2011 will be considered
for publication in the Operating Systems Review journal, in the
Pervasive and Mobile Computing journal, and in the Theory of Computer
Science journal, as appropriate.
BEST PAPER AWARD
Every paper is eligible for a Best Paper Award.
The Program Committee may decline to make the award or may split it.

                        IMPORTANT DATES
Paper Submission Deadline: Extended! July 15, 23:59 PM, US EST, 2010
Notification of Acceptance September 15, 2010
Camera-ready Paper Due October 13, 2010
Conference dates: 2-5 January 2011

             -------------- Call for Workshops ----------------
ICDCN 2011 invites proposals for full-day and half-day workshops on
emerging new topics that would be of interest to the networking and
    distributed systems community.
For more information, please contact the workshop co-chairs
Krishna Kant ([log in to unmask]) and
Jiannong Cao ([log in to unmask]) by July 8, 2010.
The following topics are of particular interest:
     - Social and collaborative networking as applied to grand challenge
areas such as security, healthcare, environmental stewardship,
     disaster management, etc.
     - Energy Management in large scale systems such as data centers,
cloud/grid computing environments, etc., including theoretical and
algorithmic aspects of addressing the energy/performance/availability
     triad.
     - Control of large-scale Cyber-physical systems -- e.g., smart-grid,
smart-buildings, transportation systems, etc. Potential aspects
of interest include stability & control issues, networking,
     management, robustness, security, etc.
