The Department of Computer Science at École Polytechnique is likely to recruit an assistant professor in networks, starting September 2020.
Candidates should hold a Ph.D. and should have demonstrated great abilities in research and teaching. They must be able to contribute to computer science education at all teaching levels (Bachelor, Engineering degree, Master of Science and Technology). They will have to show how they will integrate into the teaching teams of basic and more specialized computer science courses. Their ability to contribute to project-based teaching, and to strengthen the links between teaching, research and applications, will be an important selection criterion.
The chosen candidate will become a member of the Laboratory of Computer Science of the Ecole Polytechnique (LIX), where they will develop original research activity in the Networks team. Candidates must present a scientific project and/or expertise in relation to IoT.
The responsibilities and missions of Assistant Professor positions at École Polytechnique are similar to those of « Maître de Conférences » positions in French Universities, and are tenured positions (after a one year probation period).
To prepare the teaching and research aspects of their application, respectively, candidates are invited to contact Marie-Paule Cani ([log in to unmask]) - mandated by the DIX (CS department), Gilles Schaeffer ([log in to unmask]) Director of the LIX (Research lab), as well as the head of the Networks team, Thomas Clausen ([log in to unmask]).
The deadline for submission of applications file on the School's Internet site is March 23, 2020 (http://www.polytechnique.edu/). Interviews are scheduled between May 11 and 20, 2020.
