Dear Colleagues,

We are continuing to build a new School of Computer and Cyber Sciences at
Augusta University, now in its second year. This is an exciting opportunity
to be among the founding members of the new school, to have great growth
opportunities, and to substantially contribute to our research directions.
Following a successful hiring program last year -- we recruited 10 faculty,
some of whom you surely know -- I will be hiring at least 10 more faculty
this year, and 10 more the year after the next. Please consider applying.

All the best,
Alex Schwarzmann

The School of Computer and Cyber Sciences at Augusta University was founded
in 2017 with the vision of becoming a top-tier comprehensive research and
educations college in computing disciplines. The School has embarked on a
path of unprecedented growth, with substantial increases in faculty, and
graduate and undergraduate enrollment.

Augusta, Georgia, is becoming a primary hub for cybersecurity in the United
States, and the area is poised for explosive development. Augusta is
included among the 10 Global Cybersecurity Hubs for 2019:

We are located at the center of a number of academic, governmental and
corporate partnerships critical to the nation’s cyber security, including
the U.S. Army Cyber Center of Excellence, the National Security Agency
Georgia, the future home of the United States Army Cyber Command, and the
nearby Savannah River National Laboratory in South Carolina. The State of
Georgia invested $100M in Georgia Cyber Center at Augusta University, a
322,000-square-foot research and education facility which opened in 2018
and is home to the School of Computer and Cyber Sciences.

Augusta University was created a few years ago as the fourth research
university in Georgia through a consolidation. Our oldest school, the
Medical College of Georgia, was established in 1828, the 13th oldest and
the 8th largest in the Nation. And our newest, established in 2017, is the
School of Computer and Cyber Sciences (https://www.augusta.edu/ccs/dean.php
).
