Middlesex University was recently ranked in the Guardian newspaper
league tables as 19th out of 100+ UK universities. As part of its
strategic plans to further strengthen its position, Middlesex
University is seeking to appoint between 40 - 50 post-doctoral fellows
in key priority areas in the university in the period 2004-2005. The
Interaction Design Centre within the School of Computing Science has
been identified as one of these areas.

Research at the Interaction Design Centre investigates various aspects
of human-systems interaction, including cognitive engineering;
collaborative systems; human error; accessibility; usability and
interaction design; and digital library design. Further information

We are seeking Senior Research Fellows (Researcher C) and/or Research
Fellows (Researcher B1/B2) who will complement our research in the
following research themes:
- Cognitive engineering and collaboration in complex and safety
critical systems
- Accessibility of on-line public service information by socially
disadvantaged people
- Design of Digital Libraries for non-traditional application areas.

The positions are initially for 2 years, with the possibility of
extension. Appointees on extended contracts will enjoy the same career
progression opportunities to Readership and Professorship as those on
our conventional academic grades.
