After reading Howard's post on this subject, I am close to
changing my mind about a long-standing position I have taken vis a vis
software and legislative action.

I have some contacts in congress, as do others among you.  Also, I
have the optioon of writing publicly about the trend toward greater
irresponsible modalities in all aspects of safety critical software.

Is it time to politicize this issue by a call for congressional action to
get some more muscle behind the drive to ensure a greater regard for
safety in the growing dependency on software?  I wonder?
