One can't expect to be at a company forever. Not any more. If, when laid
off, there are 0 - 1 Ada jobs within 25 miles, 50 newly unemployed Ada
programmers contending for it, and 40 - 100 C++ jobs, what langauge would
you want to be skilled in then?
Calling Mayflower Van Lines to retain an Ada outlook on life is an expensive
and often unpleasant option.

Subject: Again, Ada is not an option.....
(A worse problem is people who know better, but select C++ or Java where
they are not appropriate because getting the "right" things on their
resumes is more important than the success of the project.)
