Hi, Everyone,
I wanted to also thank Ed Falis for his talk on Ada and the
Java Virtual Machine at the last Jersey Shore SIGAda meeting.
Ed gave an excellent talk, with a very interesting example,
and both the talk and example code are in the PAL (and will be
on the April Ada CDROM). They will be in the PAL Card Catalog
soon.
Ed's talk was sponsored by Aonix, so thanks to Aonix as well.
Aonix, particularly Dave Wood, has also updated their submission
to the PAL (and it will be on the April Ada CDROM) and donated
a batch of their Special Edition compilers, which we gave away
at the SIGAda booth at the ACM Computer Science Education's Technical
Symposium on Computer Science Education last week in Atlanta.
We had 5 CDROMs at the SIGAda booth in Atlanta:
the BURKS 2 CDROM - a collection of free compilers in 20 languages
assembled by John English and donated by SIGAda
the Aonix Ada95 Special Edition, donated by Aonix
the Discovering Ada, donated by the Ada Joint Program Office
the new Software Development and Engineering Courseware Project,
Pilot 1, CDROM - donated by Microsoft
the Nov 97 Ada CDROM - sold/donated by SIGAda
Both the SDE and Ada CDROMs are Walnut Creek CDROM products and
available for sale from Walnut Creek and in bookstores and computer
stores.
To my knowledge, we ran out of most of them by the end of the
conference (I had to leave early on Saturday morning and missed
the last 3 hours of exhibit time). Over 900 registered attendees
were at the conference.
