There is certainly one standard database access specification - I would say
it is _the_ standard database access specification - namely Module/Embedded
SQL. The current SQL standard (ISO 9075:1992) specifies a good way for
programs in various languages, including Ada, to access a SQL database
system.
Of course, whether all (or any) database or compiler vendors implement this
standard is another matter. I'm sure they have their excuses. (I intend to
implement full Module SQL in my own Ada compiler.) I'd be happy to briefly
outline the method to Craig (or anyone), by direct e-mail.
