Just as a follow-up to our discussion on Team Ada, I thought you would
be interested in this set of course slides:
I just finished including a series on a Visual Basic program running
an Ada program. It includes full-color screen displays, the Visual
Basic source code (all 1 line of it!), the Visual Basic images,
the Ada source code, and the results (screen displays showing the
VB program running and the Ada program running).
So, in the Microsoft Windows world, you can see how easy it is to
write applications which use Visual Basic to provide the front-end
and Ada to provide the engine. For those of you who have not seen
VB before, it also shows you what VB is like and how the IDE is
integrated with the procedural language.
The complete version of this example (with source code) will be
on the upcoming ASE Update 2 CDROM and the ASE websites at
Walnut Creek CDROM, the Microsoft Academic Cooperative, and
Kennesaw State University.
