  So the important thing is how accurately you can time the initiation
of each message transmission?  You say you can hear the difference
between a Mac and a PC - how much of a difference in timing is there?
What is the clock tick rate on the Mac?  (The last time I did anything
on a Mac the tic was 1/30 second or something.)
