SE's, if involved at all, are relegated to low level coders, system
administrators or S/W QA (an area commonly ignored).  They have no influence

        A software engineer in SQA?  Someone who knows the difference between
"while" and "for"
       (and hopefully knows the reasons for having reviews) instead of someone
who knows how to
       count indent spaces and check spelling?  That was not the case at the
Lockheed Martin
       facility I once worked at!  (Only it wasn't Lockheed Martin then...)
