Heres my 10 Rappen's worth...

Incidentally, and for the record. One of my current clients is Siemens
AG in Zurich, who are also developing an Ada Based Railtrack Control
System called SIMIS-IS.

The target environment presently employs the C-Smart compiler by Aonix
hosted on NT targetting to a proprietary Runtime system on an Intel
chip, (C-Smart is a very restrictive safe subset of Ada 83).

The whole thing would be a text book case for using a Safe Subset of
Ada 95 - perhaps with Ravenscar (see Ada Letters June 1999).

There's been a bit of in house squabbling between the C++ & Ada camps -
you know the usual same old bitter arguments and head banging.

Anyway its a start and a good sign that Ada is appreciated in other
sectors too.

Any links to other Ada Rail Transport projects appreciated for Ada
ammunition.

Cheers,

Dave Croston-Melling.
