Hello everyone,

I'm pleased to let you know that version 1.0 of OptiMusic is available
at
    http://perso.club-internet.fr/hbitteur/optimusic.html
This free software (executables and Ada 95 source code) is released
under the terms of the GNU General Public License.

OptiMusic is an Optical Music Recognition software.
The input is the image of a standard notation provided by a scanner for
example.
The possible outputs include :
- the writing of the corresponding MIDI file,
- the direct music playing using MIDI messages with synchronized
animation of the original image.

The software runs under Windows (95, 98, NT) and re-uses Ada components
such as WINDEX (Stephen Leake), SCL (Marin Condic), OS_SERVICES
(Jean-Pierre Rosen).

I've put the emphasis on the documentation, especially OMR techniques
and Ada architecture, so that any one interested can reuse OptiMusic as
a framework and extend it.

Enjoy,

-- Hervé
