Are other, less courteous, background programs, that run with normal
priority, a problem when your program is set to Low?
I have a similar background program that checks the position of the
mouse every few seconds. If it's moved, suggesting a human is running
interactively, it does a "delay 2.0;" Maybe a combination, setting the
priority down when the mouse has moved and back up if there's been no
mousing recently, would be good.
