I tried the 800 number after the e-mail bounced. Got an automated
message system and was dropped after 40 seconds with the message:
"Number you have dialed can not be reached from your calling area"

Automated message system says that Psychic Connection is sponsored
by Bureau 21 (www.bureau21.com) which is an MCI WorldCom Service.
(So the fake GTE e-mail address is especially mischievious.)
I called Bureau 21 at (626) 443-3110 and described the situation.
(It's a local call that's why the 800 number eventually failed.)
They have an idea of which of their clients is responsible for this
mess and will try to deal with them. (Silvia Brown is, of course,
a pseudonym.) I think the e-mail list admins can register their
complaints at Bureau 21 ([log in to unmask]) but an e-mail bomb
attack is inappropriate (we'd be hitting the wrong target).
