was proposed and rejected during the 95 revision.  I don't know whether

   return <expression> when <condition>;

was proposed or not.

I understand and agree with the philosphy of not piling on
a lot of low pay-off features, but I always wondered why
this one was rejected.  It seems to be a nice readability
enhancement, not a degradation.  It certainly can't be
hard to implement after "exit when" is debugged.  But
it's not a big issue for me.  If it was in there, I would
have used it a lot (in fact, I _tried_ to follow the revision
process, but I missed the fact that this was dropped, and
therefore actually tried to use it a few times before
getting it through my head that it's "not Ada"
