Just as an aside to this thread, I'm also seeing more articles about
computer languages in journals and magazines which are not computer
specific or computer based.



Case in point - the Nov. 6, 1997 issue of EDN magazine has an article
entitled "Java takes on C and C++" by George Ellis. EDN was formerly
Electronic Design News and is devoted more to electronic design issues than
computer issues. Thus inclusion of this article came as a bit of a
surprise. The author spends a considerable amount of space detailing good
and bad points for each language and contrasting the languages.



Bottom line: Sometimes it is good to look outside the normal realms of what
one considers relevant.
