despite the name, windows/ce is apparently not the old windows code after a diet.
its footprint isn't all that small, except in comparison to
the various desktop windows systems.  parts of the
industry use `embedded' for anything that's not a spreadsheet on a PC
(``i'm running an embedded system on my mainframe'').

on the current palmtops the user interface is bizarre:
i assumed it was a politically-correct variant of Windows for
`the little people'.  i dubbed it ``windows for pixies''.

even so, i think you'll find that many OEMs will take it up.
no one ever got fired for buying Microsoft etc.
more to the point, they daren't be left out.
they are probably right.
