Many potential users are excluded from using mobile communications technology such as elderly people, people with sensory and motor disabilities and those with limited limb movement. The 'Can You Hear Us' laboratory is taking place from midday Wednesday 14 - 16 June 2000 at Saltaire, Bradford, Yorkshire. This interdisciplinary design laboratory will take a fresh look into research approaches relating to improving access to mobile communications technology from a user perspective. 'Can You Hear Us' is aiming to attract a mix of designers, technologists, HCI researchers and user advocates. This innovative and exciting laboratory format is designed to allow multi-disciplined team participation that will conclude on the last morning in the presentation of three dimensional concepts generated by the teams over the previous day and a half.
