CALL FOR PARTICIPATION - CHI 2001 SIG on SPIRITUAL LIFE AND HCI We invite you to join us at 9:00am on Wednesday 4 April at CHI 2001 to discuss spiritual life and HCI. You can find details on what happened at the CHI 2000 SIG about on-line spiritual experiences in the March 2001 issue of Communications of the ACM ( http://www.acm.org/pubs/articles/journals/cacm/2001-44-3/p82-muller/p82-muller.pdf ). This year, we will continue our discussion, exploring how the spiritual parts and the work-related parts of our lives are interrelated. To help to focus our discussions, we invite you to bring a photograph or a drawing of an object or a place (physical or on-line) that has spiritual meaning or significance for you -- or bring the object itself. Unfortunately, we will not have access to the internet from the SIG room, and our only projector will be for transparencies, not for computers. If you can easily make a transparency of your photograph or drawing, we invite you to plan to display your transparency during the session. We hope you will be moved to talk about the object or the place and explain its meaning to you. We hope you will join us, whether or not you bring objects or photographs. We look forward to your experiences and your insights. Michael Muller Ellen Christiansen Susan Dray Bonnie Nardi
