Hi everyone,
 Our regularly scheduled September meeting for BayCHI UE BOF/ Bay Area UPA 
Chapter has been moved to October 18th and will be held at Intuit in 
Mountain View. We'll learn about ensuring accessibility of web-based 
interfaces to users with disabilities. Treats/socializing will begin at 7pm 
and the talk will start at 7:30pm.

Presentation

 Tim Springer of SSB Technologies will discuss issues relating to ensuring 
the accessibility of web based interfaces to users with disabilities. His 
talk will cover:


   - Assistive technologies used by individuals with disabilities 
   - Relevant US and International legislation 
   - Usability issues specific to the disabled community 
   - Methods for auditing accessibility

Tim Springer, Chairman
As co-founder of SSB Technologies, Mr. Springer designed SSB's 
patent-pending core technology and led the development of InFocus™, the 
industry's first commercial software for testing Web accessibility. Tim is 
the chief architect of the Accessibility Management Platform and SSB's 
proprietary accessibility assessment methodology. Mr. Springer advises many 
large corporations and Federal agencies (including the Social Security 
Administration, HP and Wells Fargo Bank) on the technical challenges and 
best practices required to successfully achieve accessibility.
