[Accept our apologies for cross-posting]

Dear All,
our strategy for the International Journal of Knowledge and Learning
(http://www.inderscience.com/ijkl) is to make it one of the best journals
in the domain of Knowledge and Learning Management.

Currently on printer is the first double volume of 2006, with 10 excellent
articles while two special issues are on the queue with contributions
through invitations to the Scientific Coordinators of the big R&D European
Funded R&D projects concerning:

1) Technology enhanced Learning and
2) Semantic Based Knowledge Systems

I am very happy to announce 5 more special issue.

1. Special Issue on “Knowledge, Technology and the Digital Divide: Global
Perspectives”, Guest Editors: Bill Martin, Mohini Singh and Alemayehu
Molla, RMIT University, Australia, CFP available at:
http://www.inderscience.com/browse/callpaper.php?callID=365

A key personal decision is to open IJKL to the Society. This is why the
next 3 special issues are dealing with key themes of our society.

2. Special issue on "Knowledge and Learning Technologies for National
Educational Systems: New Horizons for open minds".
The objective of this issue is to analyze how the excellent research on
knowledge and learning technologies can be exploited within national
educational systems at all levels.

3. Special Issue on "Knowledge Transfer and eEurope: What is going wrong?"

A key concern for this special issue is to investigate how the research
production and delivered technologies of R&D projects can be used for the
benefit of the society, and why currently there is a significant gap in
exploitation of these results from the target groups. In this issue we
will have contributions also from members of the European Union
Parliament.

4. Special Issue on "Knowledge Society: Bridging the Demand and Supply
side of Knowledge and Learning".

This issue is devoted to a multifocus analysis of the Knowledge Society as
the new context of our living and working.

5. Special Issue on "Embedding Pedagogy in Learning Objects and Learning
Designs"

This issue has a more specific target. The Learning Objects and Learning
Designs industry is setting new standards and visions but from the other
hand the beneficiaries of the technologies and the real users have
troubles in realizing the new paradigm shift. This issue is delivering the
vision to its full potential.

I am very happy that international well known academics accepted my
invitation to co-edit these editions which I do believe that will develop
an excellent context for debate between academia, business and the
society.

For the Special Issues numbered 2-5 a detailed announcement will follow in
the next couple weeks.

Please dont hesitate to contact concerning these special issues. And if
anyone of you feels that can support our work on IJKL from the EB or the
Review board I would be happy.

With Best Regards

Dr. Miltiadis D. Lytras
Editor in Chief of International Journal of Knowledge and Learning
"Et in Arkadia Ego"
