Have you or a loved one ever been ill? Or perhaps you have tried to
implement a healthier lifestyle? Many people use the Internet to search for
health information (79% of American Internet users, according to a Pew
study) and many use online health communities for both education and
support.

On Monday, April 30, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. PST please come to the Online
Health Community SIG and contribute your experiences as an HCI professional
and/or as a patient or caregiver. If you are interested in designing online
communities or social networking sites, this is one of the most fascinating
applications and one where there is the most potential to have an impact on
the quality of people's lives.

Whether or not you can join us at the SIG, please go to
http://onlinehealthcommunities.com, which we just set up, or email me with
your experiences with or ideas about online health communities, which I will
share at the SIG.

Thanks,
Lisa
