Talk - Immersive Research: A Methodology for Remote Contextual Research .

Ever growing broadband penetration rates, ubiquitous digital media, XML driven social software, and connected wireless devices have provided researchers the technological tools to remotely capture day-to-day customer experiences literally as they unfold. However, developments in methodology have trailed those in technology, with many trying to simply mimic offline research approaches. This presentation introduces the idea of Immersive Research - a methodological framework that treats online as a distinct research medium with its own strengths, weaknesses and conventions. It will describe the anatomy of an Immersive Research study and demonstrate the possibilities of this research through case studies. This talk will also include a brief demonstration of  Revelation a web application developed specifically for conducting Immersive Research studies ( www.revelationglobal.com).
