Whole Body Interaction involves any part of the human body directly or indirectly influencing interaction, or acting as a feedback mechanism in the interaction loop. Researchers are invited to submit position papers on the topic of Whole Body Interaction for a one-day workshop to take place at CHI2009, Boston, April, 2009 - see http://www.chi2009.org Participants from fields including the following * - HCI specialists in physical interaction * - HCI specialists in advanced interaction frameworks * - Movement Scientists * - Performance Artists and theorists * - Health practitioners specialized on movement * - Motion Capture practitioners and researchers * - Games developers and researchers are invited to submit position papers of 3-4 pages to [log in to unmask] <mailto:[log in to unmask]> by 23rd October 2008 addressing the such aspects of Whole Body Interaction as * - Advanced Interaction frameworks * - Marker-less motion capture * - Bio-cybernetics * - Human Performance with multiple and advanced sensors. Position papers should address advanced research themes and will be selected by the organizing committee on the basis of quality, relevance and balance of contribution to the workshop. Contributors will be invited to submit extended papers to a journal special issue following the workshop. The workshop will consist of a set of interactive prototyping exercises designed to facilitate a shared understanding of the issues of Whole Body Interaction between people from different disciplines. At least one author of the accepted paper must attend the workshop and one or more days of the CHI2009 conference.
