I personally tend to prefer some subtle differentiation. I never liked 
the blue / red pattern (although as a standard users used to look for 
"red things I've been too") but I do think having some differentiation 
is helpful. Some users will figure it out, others won't. Either way it's 
a usability cue with very little downside.
