Using Technology for Assessment Practices in Science Classrooms

This presentation will discuss technology tools, standards and research-based pedagogical practices that support teachers in listening to and responding to students' learning needs. Dr. DeBarger's projects explore ways to improve learning and teaching through formative assessment practices. Angela Haydel DeBarger's research interests are in the design and validation of innovative assessments and in studying student motivation in learning activities. Her current work focuses on designing technology-supported formative assessments and large-scale assessments. Dr. DeBarger holds a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology and a B.A. degree in Psychology from Stanford University, and an M.S. degree in Psychology from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor.
