UMAP 2013 - 21st International Conference
on User Modeling, Adaptation, and Personalization

June 10-14, 2013
Rome, Italy

Poster and demonstration papers (3 pages) are original and unpublished
accounts of innovative research ideas, preliminary results, system
prototypes or industry showcases. Demonstrations are an excellent way to
showcase implementations of prototypes and commercially available
products at the conference and to receive feedback from the conference

Posters and demonstrations submitted by March 8th, will be published in
the main proceedings of UMAP 2013 in the Springer series Lecture Notes
in Computer Science (LNCS).

There will be a possibility to submite late-breaking contributions by
May 1st. Those submissions will be published separately in CEUR-WS

Submissions should be made through the EasyChair conference system and
adhere to the Springer LNCS format. All submissions will be
peer-reviewed. Final copies of the accepted contributions should be sent
in due time in order for them to be included in the conference
proceedings. At least one of the authors should register and take part
at the conference to make the presentation.

Accepted submissions (including Late-breaking) will be presented at the
Poster & Demo reception at UMAP.

The International Conference on User Modeling, Adaptation, and
Personalization (UMAP) is the premier international conference for
researchers and practitioners working on systems that adapt to their
individual users, or to groups of users, and collect and represent
information about users for this purpose.

The conference spans a wide scope of topics related to user modeling and
personalization, including construction of user models, adaptive
responses, tailoring of search results, recommending products, Web usage
mining, collaborative and content-based filtering.

As the combination of the two leading conference series in this area,
UMAP is now the single "place to be" for anyone involved in user
modeling, adaptation, and personalization. The conference proceedings
will be widely available in the Springer series Lecture Notes in
Computer Science. Moreover, they will be included in the ACM Digital
