The International AAAI Conference on Weblogs and Social Media (ICWSM),
now in its seventh year, is a premier venue for social scientists and
computer scientists to gather and discuss cutting-edge research in
social media, with work drawing upon network science, machine
learning, computational linguistics, sociology and communication.
ICWSM will take place on the MIT campus in Cambridge, MA on July
8th-10th, 2013 with tutorials and workshops following on July 11th,
2013.

David Lazer of Northeastern University will talk about the “The
challenges and opportunities in bridging computer science and social
science in studying social media.”

 Fernanda Viégas and Martin Wattenberg of Google will talk about
“Visualizing Social Weather and Climate.”

ICWSM will also offer tutorials and workshops focused on topics
related to social media analysis, data collection methods, crisis
response, citizen science, online social network analysis, behavioral
mining, social computing in the workforce, social media visualization,
and personality recognition.
