6th Workshop on the Theory of Transactional Memory EuroTM WTTM 2014 July 15, 2014, Paris, France in conjunction with PODC 2014 http://www.gsd.inesc-id.pt/~mcouceiro/wttm2014/html/index.html ====================================================== Scope The 6th Workshop on the Theory of Transactional Memory is a forum to foster exchanges, discussions, and dissemination among researchers on theoretical challenges and recent achievements in the context of speculative concurrent computing with emphasis on transactional memory. Transactional memory (TM) is a promising programming paradigm for simplifying concurrent programming. This abstraction raises several challenges in the way we view synchronization as well as in the way we implement it. A major goal of the workshop is to explore new directions and approaches for reasoning about transactional memory. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to: - Transaction models - Safety and liveness in speculative computing - TM algorithms and limitations - Speculation-friendly and transaction-friendly data structures and algorithms - Concurrent programming, synchronization and shared memory - Multiprocessor and multi-core architectures and algorithms - Models for the analysis of multiprocessor and multi-core algorithms - TM verification - TM computing in clusters of workstations and message-passing systems - In-memory speculative algorithms Important dates Submission deadline: ** May 22, 2014 (anywhere on earth) ** Acceptance notification: June 22, 2014 Workshop Date: July 15, 2014 Submissions We solicit submissions describing recent results and/or position papers relevant to the theory of speculative computing with emphasis on transactional memory to be presented and discussed at the workshop. Submissions should be in English and in PDF format. Submissions have to include: a title, authors’ name and affiliation, and an up to four-page abstract. Papers are to be submitted electronically at https://www.easychair.org/conferences/?conf=wttm2014 Final papers will be available to participants electronically during the workshop. However, to facilitate resubmission to more formal venues, no archival proceedings will be published. Authors will have the option to upload the final version of their papers on the workshop website.
