CONFERENCE THEME: Getting ready for the unexpected – Information Systems for Crisis Management in a complex and uncertain world

Emergencies are characterised by their ‘unness’ ‘... unexpected, unscheduled, unplanned, unprecedented and definitely unpleasant’ (Crichton 2003) – they are unexpected and unknowable in their specific unfolding, however good emergency plans and scenarios are. Uncertainty is a defining feature. Through this conference theme we invite Tracks and submissions focusing on the technologies, procedures, approaches, methods and tools that can be employed to improve crisis response in an increasingly complex and dynamic world. Creative and critical reflections are welcome.

As a Track chair, you
-Define areas of particular interest for ISCRAM and in relation to the Conference Theme
-Communicate with prospective authors
-Solicit and read paper submissions
-Recruit reviewers for Long Papers and review Short Papers
-Manage the review process in your Track, enforcing deadlines, writing metareviews, and propose acceptance decisions to the Program Chairs
-Check the final version for content and formatting
-Nominate papers for plenary presentation
-Moderate your track’s sessions at the ISCRAM conference

Track chairs are encouraged to arrange for a special issue of a journal for their best papers.

To submit a proposal, please use the template provided on the ISCRAM web site ( Submit it to [log in to unmask] by 18th July 2015 5pm CET.

The track selection process is competitive and a limited number of new track themes will be accepted. Criteria for acceptance are relevance to the conference and this year’s theme, topicality, significance, intellectual ambition and quality. ISCRAM2015 will include some tracks that have been offered successfully at recent conferences.
