===================== Call for Doctoral Consortium Papers at ACM Hypertext 2015 Cyprus, 1-4 September 2015 ===================== Goals and Format: ===================== The Hypertext 2015 Doctoral Consortium aims to provide qualified Ph.D. students with the opportunity to present their on-going research to the hypertext community. The Doctoral Consortium will be an integral part of the Hypertext 2015 program, and will provide a constructive atmosphere and a forum for Ph.D. students to receive useful feedback from the leading experts, to exchange ideas, compare approaches and meet fellow researchers in the field. Doctoral students are invited to apply to present their research to field scholars who will provide constructive comments about their work. Submissions (due June 12, 2015): ====================== Submissions will be done through EasyChair https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=hypertext2015 and should be related to the conference topics: - Data Connectivity - Digital Connectivity - Digital Humanities See more details about the topics at http://ht.acm.org/ht2015/callforpapers.html Submissions describe Ph.D. research that is at a stage where feedback from the broader hypertext community might be of value. Thus, we expect students to be close to presenting their thesis proposal, or to have presented the proposal with at least a year of work remaining before completion of their thesis. Format: ======================= Submissions should include an extended abstract (up to four pages in the ACM SIG Proceedings format specified by ACM Hypertext 2015, including figures and references), which covers the following aspects: - The problem(s) that the proposed research is addressing. - The main contribution(s) of the research to the HT field in the context of existing research. - The proposed solution(s), including a brief description of results achieved so far and a tentative plan for future work. A revised version of this extended abstract will be included in the Hypertext 2015 Extended Proceedings, which will be published open-access at CEUR-WS. Eligibility: ======================= The ACM Hypertext 2015 DC welcomes contributions from doctoral students currently registered in a PhD program. Ideal candidates should have worked on their dissertation for some months; thus, they should have chosen a research topic and possibly have also selected theoretical and methodological approaches. Selection of participants will be based on the quality of the submission and its relevance to the conference topics of interest. Travel Grants: ======================= SIGWEB in kindly offering up to US$7,000 (in total) in funding for student travel grants to allow more students to take part in the DC; please find more information at http://ht.acm.org/ht2015/support.html and apply as early as possible to increase your chances. The application deadline is 13th of July, 2015.
