Apologies for cross postings ... ============================================================= Call for Papers – International Teletraffic Congress (ITC 28) ============================================================= ITC-28 Conference September 12-16, 2016 Würzburg, Germany http://itc28.org The evolution of communications and networking is changing the world we are living in. The digital connected world is triggered by the influence of computer science on telecommunication, the advent of the Internet and the massive deployment of mobile communications and optics, the appearance of collaborative networking and social networks, the ever-increasing speed and flexibility of new communication technologies, networks, user devices, and applications, and the ever-changing operational challenges arising from this development. ITC is the first international conference in networking science & practice. It gathers a wide and lively community of researchers and practitioners dedicated to pushing forward the boundary of knowledge in the area of networking. As such, ITC has provided a forum for leading researchers from academia and industry to present and discuss the latest changes and developments in design, modelling, measurement, and performance evaluation of communication systems, networks, and services. ITC 28 continues this tradition and solicits original contributions that address novel technologies or propose innovative models and techniques. ITC 28 is structured into eight different areas. The objectives in these areas include, among others, energy-efficiency and green IT, network security and privacy, QoS and QoE, and resilience. More details on the areas and the list of topics can be found online at http://itc28.org Area 1: Smart cities and IoT (Alberto Leon-Garcia, Yanmin Zhu) Area 2: Cloud services and networking (Arup Acharya, Patrick Lee) Area 3: Mobile, wireless and 5G (Kin Leung, Thomas Hou) Area 4: Next generation and future Internet architectures (Michael Zink, Thomas Zinner) Area 5: Network and traffic management (Florin Ciucu, Peter Reichl) Area 6: Network planning and optimization (Thomas Bauschert, Eric Wong) Area 7: Network measurements and analysis (Marco Mellia, Mark Squillante) Area 8: Networked applications (Zhu Li, Lea Skorin-Kapov) In addition, there will be a demo session across the areas. Demonstration Session (Mark Berman, Michael Jarschel, Rick McGeer) Important dates: --------------------- Paper registration: February 19, 2016 Full paper due: March 04, 2016 Acceptance notification: May 13, 2016 Camera-ready paper due: June 15, 2016 Submissions ----------------- Submitted papers must be original work, not under review at other journals/conferences, and may comprise of a maximum of 9 A4 (210 mm x 297 mm) pages in 2-column IEEE conference style with a minimum font size of 10 pt. The demo session invites both full papers and short papers (max. 4 pages) in any of the topic areas above. All accepted demos must be presented at the conference by one of the authors. Accepted and presented papers will be published in the conference proceedings and submitted to IEEE Xplore as well as other Abstracting and Indexing (A&I) databases. Submission via EDAS: http://edas.info/N21285 Journal special issue --------------------------- We are planning to publish extended versions of selected papers in a special issue of the journal Computer Networks. The tentative publication date is the 2nd quarter, 2017. The call for paper will be available in May 2016. Student Travel Grant & Best Paper Awards --------------------------------------------------------- ITC offers a number of travel grants that will be available to support full-time students for attending ITC 28. The application from the student needs to be uploaded via EDAS until June 24, 2016. More information at http://itc28.org/ ITC 28 has set up three prestigious awards: Best Paper Award, Best Student Paper Award and Best Demo Award. These awards are offered both on the scientific quality of the paper and the presentation of the oral contribution or demo presentation. The awards and student travel grants are offered by the IAC, in support to ITC 28.
