Mobile phones can be empowering, but also challenging for our everyday wellbeing. Constant access to a world of people and information can bring distraction from the present moment and from the people and things that are physically present. Excessive use of mobile phones can also have negative consequences for sleep, concentration and other aspects of everyday life. Many designers are now looking into ways to better support mental wellbeing, be it through apps for mindfulness and meditation, or through the creation and improvement of new features such as sleep modes. People are also developing strategies and ways of coping with the negative aspects of mobile technology. These include self-control based approaches such as uninstalling social media apps or not keeping phones by the bedside, to more practice-based approaches such as meditation.

The aim of this NordiCHI workshop is to create connections among researchers and practitioners who work with different aspects of mobile wellbeing. We encourage submissions focusing on any aspect of the following three questions:

	• How does mobile technology affect mental wellbeing? 
	• How can mobile technologies be designed to foster mental wellbeing?
	• What strategies and practices of wellbeing can be developed for using and coping with mobile technology?

SUBMISSIONS
Authors are asked to submit a four-page proposal in CHI Extended Abstracts format, that will be evaluated by the workshop organizers. At least one author of each accepted position paper must attend the workshop and all participants have to register for both the workshop and for at least one day of the conference. Accepted position papers will be shared within the group of attendants before the workshop. Participants will be asked to prepare 5-minute presentations about their position papers as well select one of the three main questions to focus on during the workshop.
