Dijkstra Prize: 

The 2017 Edsger W. Dijkstra Prize in Distributed Computing sponsored by ACM PODC and EATCS DISC will be presented at DISC this year. 
It has been awarded to the paper

  Elizabeth Borowsky, Eli Gafni:
  Generalized FLP impossibility result for t-resilient asynchronous computations.

The award ceremony will be held at the DISC 2017 banquet.

Celebration of Yoram Moses's 60th birthday

The talks in honor of Yoram will be held on the afternoon of October 17th by Joe Halpern (Cornell University, USA), Moshe Tenenholtz (Technion, Israel), Moshe Vardi (Rice University, USA), Shafi Goldwasser (MIT, USA), and Sergio Rajsbaum (UNAM, Mexico). 


DISC’17 will be held at Austria Trend Hotel Park Royal Palace, at Schlossallee 8, 1140 Wien (Vienna), in close proximity to the Vienna Technical Museum, and with views of Schönbrunn Palace.
