Call for Papers *Multimedia Tools and Applications * an International Journal (Springer) Special Issue on *iV2018 - Multimedia and Visualization * *Guest Editors: * Ebad Banissi, Department of Informatics, London South Bank University, [log in to unmask] Rita Francese, Department of Computer Science, University of Salerno, [log in to unmask] Michele Risi, Department of Computer Science, University of Salerno, [log in to unmask] This Special Issue will include a selection of the best papers presented at the 2018 Edition of iV 2018, the 22nd International Conference on Information Visualisation, held from 10th to 13th of July 2018 in Salerno, related to the proposed topics. *We also expect high quality contributions from authors that did not attend the conference, which are more than welcome. * The expected topics include, but are not limited to: · Innovative proposals regarding advanced applications for information visualisation, · Augmented reality and virtual reality for information visualisation, · Collaborative multimedia applications adopting information visualisation · New proposals for music visualisation Authors have to submit choosing *1126T -- Information Visualization (iV 2018) * *A special space will be reserved to papers dealing with Multimedia Tools and Applications for Information Visualisation participating to the conference iV2018 - Information Visualisation * Please notice that the authors of the long papers presented in iV2018 are invited to submit an *extended version* of their contributions by taking into consideration both the reviewers’comments on their conference paper, and the feedback received during presentation at the conference. *It is worth underlining that verbatim transfer of large parts of the conference paper will not be tolerated, and that the extension is expected to contain at least 30% of original scientific contribution, e.g., in the form of new algorithms, experiments or qualitative/quantitative comparisons*. The acceptance of the papers follows the MTAP high quality requirements. The submitted extended versions should have at least 15 pages. *It is requested to all authors to especially stress aspects of the proposed approaches related to the multimedia tools, applications and paradigms. * Papers must be formatted according to Springer requested format. *** Submission deadline: 30 November 2018 *** Submitted papers should present original, unpublished work, relevant to one of the topics of the Special Issue. All submitted papers will be evaluated on the basis of relevance, significance of contribution, technical quality, scholarship, and quality of presentation, by at least three independent reviewers. It is the policy of the journal that no submission, or substantially overlapping submission, be published or be under review at another journal or conference at any time during the review process.
