Dear SIGCHI members,
We thank all of you who voted for us as VPs-at-Large in the SIGCHI Executive Committee and supported our goals of expanding global outreach and mentorship.
Sadly, we no longer feel we can be effective in our efforts towards these goals within the EC.
We have not found the level of collaboration and support that we expected in the EC. Even in areas within our own domains, our input has not been consistently sought or valued.
It has become apparent that we do not share the values of this particular EC and that we are not going to be able to make progress on the issues we care deeply about and were elected to address within this context.
We have therefore resigned our positions, effective immediately. As noted below, SIGCHI policy allows for the President to nominate our successors and they will be voted on by the remaining Elected Officers.
We remain dedicated to improving global outreach and mentorship in HCI, and look forward to working with you on these topics in other ways.

(a) Should the post of President become vacant before the three-year term expires, the Executive Vice-President will become President. Should any other elective office of SIGCHI become vacant, the President may nominate a member of SIGCHI and ACM to fill the vacancy. Nominations are approved by majority vote of the remaining Elected Officers. Vacancies in appointed offices are filled according to the procedures for making the original appointment to that office.
