The 20th Interaction Design and Children Conference (IDC) 2021 is now 
accepting applications for its Doctoral Consortium (DC) track. The DC is 
a forum for PhD students to present their work, to receive feedback and 
guidance by experienced researchers in the field. It is an opportunity 
to discuss first results, future plans, stumbling blocks and 
difficulties towards finishing their PhD research. It is a closed event 
where only PhD students can participate.

-- Submission Deadline: 12 April 2021 by midnight AoE
-- Notification: 26 April 2021
-- Camera ready deadline: May 10, 2021
-- Doctoral Consortium ice breaking event: 10 June 2021
-- Doctoral Consortium Day: 24 June 2021

Interested students should submit an extended research abstract (up to 4 
pages, excluding references) describing:
* The research topic (context, motivation, most important related work)
* The research question you are trying to answer
* The work so far (any studies or initial work)
* The methods used so far
* The planned next steps
* A short description of what you will bring and add (from your diverse 
perspective) to the DC, and what you hope to gain

Abstracts will be reviewed and selected on the basis of quality and the 
benefit students may derive from participating in the DC. All accepted 
abstracts will be included in the conference proceedings published in 
the ACM Digital Library.

==== About IDC 2021 ====
IDC 2021, previously planned to be a hybrid conference (online and in 
Athens, Greece), will be held online-only on June 26-30, 2021. Now in 
its 20th year, ACM IDC is the premier international conference for 
researchers, educators and practitioners to share the latest research 
findings, innovative methodologies and new technologies in the areas of 
inclusive child-centered design, learning and interaction. The overall 
theme for ACM IDC 2021 is “Global meets local: designing with and for 
children in a changing world”.
