The Faculty of Health, Science and Technology at Karlstad University invite=
s applications for four doctoral studentships in Computer Science with a fo=
cus on data driven mobile networks and services at the Department of Mathem=
atics and Computer Science.
Computer Science has received funding from the Knowledge Foundation of Swed=
en for a research profile on data-driven latency-sensitive mobile services =
for a digitalized society (DRIVE). The profile is an eight-year 130 MSEK e=
ffort that will be run in close collaboration with our industrial partners =
Ericsson, Icomera, Mullvad, Telia, TietoEvry and Varnish. DRIVE will be lau=
nched in the fall and we are now looking to recruit four new PhD students t=
o strengthen our team and start up work in the profile. We are looking to r=
ecruit one student each in the following areas:
* How to use network programmability frameworks and languages such as P=
4 to accelerate packet processing functions for providing flexible, QoS-ena=
bled, and scalable connectivity in next-generation mobile networks.
* How to design data- and service-driven solutions that can facilitate =
adaptive and latency-aware communication in beyond 5G/6G mobile networks.
* How to model various parts of multi-tier computation platforms, and d=
esign scalable latency-aware AI/ML-based optimization solutions for service=
provisioning along the cloud continuum (i.e., IoT-Edge-Cloud platforms).
* How to measure and analyze end-to-end latency performance to gain ins=
ights on the integrated performance of DRIVE solutions, and data analytics =
for current and future 5G/6G networks.

<p>We are organizing the 3rd International Workshop on Human-Centric Mult=
imedia Analysis. As one of the fundamental problems in multimedia underst=
anding, human-centric multimedia analysis is a very challenging problem t=
hat involves multiple tasks such as face detection and recognition, human=
pose estimation, human action detection, human-object interaction, perso=
n tracking, person re-identification, and so on. The purpose of this work=
shop is to: 1) bring together the state-of-the-art research on human-cent=

PriComp 2022 is the 8th in this series of conferences started in 2015 that
are devoted to algorithms and architectures for Privacy Computing. PriComp
conference provides a forum for academics and practitioners from countries
around the world to exchange ideas for improving the efficiency,
performance, reliability, security and interoperability of Privacy
Computing systems and applications.
Following the traditions of the previous successful PriComp conferences
held in Fuzhou, China (2015); Qingdao, China (2016); Melbourne, Australia
(2017); Boppard, Germany (2018); Canterbury, UK (2019); Hainan, China
(2020) and Xi'an, Shanghai, China (online, 2021); PriComp 2022 will be held
in Haikou, China. PriComp 2022 will focus on an evolving pathway from

From the beginning of the computer age, people have sought easier ways to
learn, express, and understand computational ideas. Whether this meant
moving from punch cards to textual languages, or command lines to graphical
UIs, the quest to make computation easier to express, manipulate, and
understand by a broader group of people is an ongoing challenge.
The IEEE Symposium on Visual Languages and Human-Centric Computing is the
premier international forum for research on this topic. Established in
1984, the mission of the conference is to support the design, theory,
application, and evaluation of computing technologies and languages for
programming, modeling, and communicating, which are easier to learn, use,
and understand by people.
The 2022 symposium is scheduled to take place September 12-16 in Rome,
Italy.
Our special emphasis for 2022 is *Human-Centric AI*. VL/HCC 2022 is 100%

GENERAL INFORMATION

The 37th International Conference on Information Networking (ICOIN) will
take place in Bangkok, Thailand, which is organized by Korea Institute of
Information Scientists and Engineers (KIISE). It has been 37 years since
ICOIN originally started under the name of Joint Workshop on Computer
Communication in 1986. In past thirty years, computer communication and
networking technologies have changed every aspect of our lives and
societies. While computer networks have contributed largely to the current
IT advancement, it will play a key role in new IT paradigms such as IoT and
cloud computing and will be applied to various areas of the upcoming
society including industry, business, politics, culture, medicine and so
on. ICOIN is the most comprehensive conference focused on the various
aspects of advances in computer communication and networking technologies.
The main purpose of ICOIN 2023 is to improve our research by achieving the
highest capability and encourage open discussions on computer communication
and networking technologies. Authors are invited to submit original

Objectives:
Develop Machine Learning and NLP algorithms and tools to identify, formally =
represent and reuse narrative structures from textual sources, with a focus =
on journalistic texts and medical texts in Portuguese and other languages. T=
he focus is on NLP algorithms and tools for extracting and understanding con=
tent.
Work description
We are looking for a highly motivated Master to join the team of researchers=
of the Text2Story project and to do a PhD that will extend beyond the end o=
f the project. The topic is Extraction of Narratives from text. The selected=
candidate will work with INESC TEC's Machine Learning and NLP / NLP team an=
d will have the opportunity to work in a dedicated and young environment, in=
close interaction with researchers, doctoral and post-doctoral students wor=
king on varied Machine Learning topics, information extraction and computer =
science. The candidate must be motivated to collaborate on other projects on=
time.
Academic Qualifications
MSc. in Computer Science / Data Science / Mathematics
Minimum profile required
Programming experience, Statistics, publications in NLP/Text Mining
Preference factors:
Good background in Mathematics. Involvement in previous research projects an=

Knowledge in Maths, Learning /Data Mining. Knowledge in programing languages=

### Eligibility
- Nominees will have received their PhD in 2012 or later (i.e., they are
within 10 years of PhD graduation) and have not received this award before.
- Nominees will have already demonstrated globally recognized and
significant scientific or engineering contributions to one or more areas of
AI.
- Nominators must complete the 2022 =E2=80=9CAI=E2=80=99s 10 to Watch=E2=80=
=9D nomination form.
i)The process requires a nominator, who will assemble and submit materials
for the nomination into CMT. ii) A nominator is any person having worked
more than 10 years after obtaining a PhD in AI or in an AI related area.
- Nominators will include three support letters, including one from an
employer/institution and two from renowned AI experts in the area.
Nominators may not write the recommendation letters themselves..

PriComp 2022 is the 8th in this series of conferences started in 2015 that
are devoted to algorithms and architectures for Privacy Computing. PriComp
conference provides a forum for academics and practitioners from countries

performance, reliability, security and interoperability of Privacy
Computing systems and applications.
Following the traditions of the previous successful PriComp conferences

(2020) and Xi'an, Shanghai, China (online, 2021); PriComp 2022 will be held
