The Committee on Computing Education in Liberal Arts Colleges was pleased to have the opportunity to connect with many of you at the SIGCSE Technical Symposium in Toronto. For those of you who were not able to
attend our Affiliated Event, we wanted to share the following information and resources.
Finally, one of the major topics of interest that we heard about from the community at our Affiliated Event was related to the content of BA versus BS degrees in Computer Science, the considerations that go into
whether to offer a BA or a BS, and the relationship between these two programs at schools that choose to offer both. We are forming a Working Group to explore these questions further with the goal of presenting their findings at our Affiliated Event at SIGCSE
2024 and possibly in other venues. If you would be interested in participating in this project, contact Andrea Tartaro ([log in to unmask])
for more information.
If you would be interested in helping with other elements of the Committee’s work, such as serving on a program committee for our SIGCSE 2024 Affiliated Event or proposing other activities, contact Amanda Holland-Minkley ([log in to unmask]).
We are always looking for volunteers!
