MARC:  Below are 3 short msgs from Mr. Paige that I think should be
interpreted encouragingly, that in no way he has "given up" on Ada.
(Altho the 1st & 3rd are mostly redundant, the emphasis added in
the 3rd is well worth noting.)

I am adding cc's on this msg because I don't want Ada advocates to
forget and lose this ammunition that we can use to try to turn a
potentially unfavorable situation for Ada into a Win.  That's our mission!
(The usual apologies to those of you who received this more than once  --
but now you have an "extra copy" to pass along to a colleague.  :-)

THE BUCK STOPS HERE .  I HAVE TRIED EVERY ROUTE ONE COULD POSSIBLY HAVE
TO HAVE FOLKS RUN WITH ADA SINCE 1979 WHEN I FIRST GOT INVOLVED. THE

I AM VERY SATISFIED AND COMFORTABLE WITH THE ELIMINATION OF THE MANDATE.
WE WILL CONTUNIE TO SUPPORT THE ADA EFFORT TO THE TUNE THAT THE NRC
RECOMMENDED OF APPROX $15MIL PER YEAR. THAT SHOULD BE EVIDENT THAT OUR
INTEREST STILL EXISTS IN ADA.

WE IN DOD/OSD/DISA MUST NOW GET ON WITH EXECUTION.
