<snip> from CFCSE-IC newsbrief 12/19/97 ****************************************************************** ANNOUNCEMENT OF ADA VALIDATION PROCEDURES 5.0 AVAILABILITY Topic: Ada The Ada Joint Program Office (AJPO), along with the Ada Validation Office (AVO) announce the release of the new Ada Compiler Validation Procedures (ACVPs), Version 5.0, 18 November 1997. It is available at: http://sw-eng.falls-church.va.us/AdaIC/compilers/val-proc/val5_0fin.shtml The ACVPs define the certification body for the Ada programming language and set forth its rules of procedure for testing implementations of the Ada language for conformity to the language standard. This testing process is known as validation. Version 5.0 of the Procedures is a revision to Version 4.2 to reflect two important changes in Ada Validation: the end of the period of transition in validation from the use of the original language standard to the revised standard; and the transferral of validation authority for the Ada language from the National Institute for Standards and Technology (NIST) to the United States Department of Defense (DoD).
