I have already supplied a considerable amount of information privately to Philippe in the aftermath of the Ada-Belgium Seminar just over a week ago. For the benefit of others, I will post a condensed version here. At A.D.S.E. we are developing a suite of programmes for use during the preliminary design process of aircraft. This encompasses calculation/estimation of mass, aerodynamics, engine performance, aircraft performance, etc. The level of detail goes well beyond the minimum required for the purpose, and is particularly suitable for design analysis. The programmes are intended to be used for internal studies and in support of customer work. All programmes are in Ada 95, with development being done on a PC using GNAT for IBM OS/2. As they are all command-line programmes with very few system or compiler-dependent calls, they should be able to run on almost anything with a suitable Ada 95 compiler with very little conversion effort. The people involved with the development effort have previously worked at Fokker Aircraft, and as such have extensive experience with similar programmes written in Ada 83 and Fortran. Development is by no means complete, but the core programmes are up and running, and at least usable for internal purposes. If past experience is anything to go by, programmes like these are never finished, as there is always something to change and update.
