Outcome-based Computer Science Education
in a Standardized Programming Language:
Academic, Government and Industry Perspectives

The Twelfth Annual ASEET Symposium will focus on the benefits of using a
standardized programming language in computer science education and
development efforts.  The symposium will emphasize practical,
outcome-based approaches and their impact in academic, government and
industrial settings.

Topics and areas of interest include (but are not limited to):
*       (Teaching) Real-Time System Development using OOP and Ada
*       (Teaching) Reuse with Ada
*       Ada in Industrial Applications Worldwide
*       Software Development Environments and Tools for Ada
*       Computer-aided Software Engineering for Ada
*       Interfacing Ada to C, C++, Java and Other Languages
*       Transitioning to or Experiences using Ada in Academic,
Industrial or Government Settings
*       Object-Oriented Analysis, Design and Programming
*       Ada Training in Industry and DoD
*       Training the Next Generation Trainer
*       Using Formal Methods with OOP and Ada
*       Ada in Distributed Systems.
*       Distributed Processing using Annex E

Authors are invited to prepare an extended abstract (2-4 pages) and
submit two copies of the abstract to Drew Hamilton by 31 March 1998.
Authors of accepted papers will be notified by 30 April 1998 with full
papers in electronic form (Microsoft Word or Adobe .PDF format) and hard
copy camera ready form due by 26 June 1998.  Proceedings will be
published and distributed at the symposium.

Papers must be original and of high quality.  All submitted abstracts
will be anonymously refereed for their significance, clarity and
originality.  Submission of an abstract is considered evidence that the
author has obtained clearance from his organization for publication,
that the author (if selected) will prepare a full paper and present it
at the symposium, and that the paper will not be presented at any other
prior symposium.
