I'm interested in porting software available for Amateur Radio to Ada as a example of REAL programs that get wide useage written in Ada. Topics include : Training : Technical / Electronics License Exams Morse Code Design and Analysis Antenna Design Circuit Design Operations Planning Propagation Prediction Emergency Communications Resource Planning Operating Modes/Support RTTY Packet/ radio networking APRS / GPS Contest Logging Amateur Satellites On-Board Code Ground Station Control Remote Control Distibuted Comm Control Also some new equipment is avaliable as "rack" mounted gear where all user interfaces are provided by a PC. The "radio" has no display on buttons, etc !! Software in the rack box and the PC might be a good example to show Ada's strength. Much of this type of software is available in C, C++, and Java. Have you heard of any of these types of projects in Ada? -- "The difference between hardware and software is that the more you play with hardware, the more likely you are to break it, but the more you play with software the more likely you are to FIX it."
